Welcome to PART 3 of our Microschool & Homeschooling Business Startup Plan series. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be diving into the exact steps you need to take to start your very own dream teacher business.
But in today's episode, we’re going to hit on one of those topics that might not sound super fun—but trust me, it’s absolutely essential to your success: your legal plan. Now, I know the word “legal” can sound intimidating (and maybe even a little boring), but I promise we’re going to break it down in a way that’s simple, straightforward, and even a little bit empowering. Yes, I said empowering!
So here’s the thing: when you’re starting a microschool, there’s a lot of freedom. You get to create the school of your dreams, where kids learn at their own pace, follow their passions, and grow in ways traditional school just doesn’t allow. But to make all that happen, you need to be sure you’re doing everything legally. The last thing you want is to be a few months in, have this amazing community of learners, and then suddenly get hit with a legal roadblock you didn’t see coming.
In this episode, I’m going to share the most important legal requirements you need to think about when starting your microschool. Whether you’re running a full-time microschool, a homeschool hybrid, or even just a few days a week of classes, there are some legal hoops you’ve got to jump through. Don’t worry—I’m going to walk you through it all. By the end of this episode, you’ll know exactly what to put in your legal plan so you can start your school with confidence.
